Business Developer
Role Overview
Kelaca is partnering with a growing commercial landscape services organization to hire a Business Developer focused on the Fort Lauderdale, FL market. You will grow a maintenance portfolio across HOAs and commercial properties, owning the full sales cycle from prospecting through close. Working closely with operations, you will turn local marketinsight into sustainable, profitable contracts.
Purpose
The Business Developer exists to :
- Expand the client’s landscape maintenance portfolio in the Fort Lauderdale area.
- Build and sustain relationships with HOA boards and commercial decision-makers.
- Translate client needs into compelling, operationally sound proposals.
- Drive disciplined activity and pipeline that support ambitious growth targets.
Key responsibilities
Own a defined Fort Lauderdale territory and maintain a focused business development plan.Identify, qualify, and develop new HOA and commercial maintenance opportunities.Lead discovery conversations to understand site needs, budgets, and decision processes.Build, price, and present customer-centric proposals in partnership with operations.Manage opportunities in the CRM, maintaining accurate pipeline and activity data.Nurture relationships with prospects, influencers, and referral partners over time.Coordinate smooth handovers to operations once contracts are signed.Represent the business at local industry events and community touchpoints.What success looks like
Within 30 days : You understand the territory, ideal client profile, pricing framework and operational model, and have a clear prospecting plan.Within 60 days : You are running a full cadence of outreach, meetings, and site walks, with a healthy qualified pipeline in the CRM.Within 90 days : You are closing new maintenance contracts and are on track towards an annualized new business target of $2M, with strong internal feedback on collaboration and communication.Knowledge, skills & experience
Experience in Business-to-Business (B2B) sales in service-based, contract-led environments.Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools (currently Aspire; experience with Salesforce or HubSpot is a plus) to manage territory, contacts, and pipeline.Strong proposal development skills to translate operational input into persuasive, commercially sound offers.Practical project management capabilities to juggle multiple opportunities, site visits, and follow-ups across aterritory.Understanding of commercial contract sales in the service industry; exposure to HOAs or property management ishighly desirable.Comfort representing the business at industry shows, events, and community activities as additional channels for lead generation.Capabilities & behaviours

The role is field-based around Fort Lauderdale, FL, with extensive local travel to client sites, offices, and community locations. You will generally work standard business hours with autonomy to structure your schedule aroundprospect and client needs. Collaboration with the wider sales and operations team is frequent, with regular check-ins, deal reviews, and joint site visits.
Location & working pattern
