Construction Project Manager
The Construction Project Manager will serve as the primary onsite liaison, overseeing all aspects of construction to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Act as the onsite representative, coordinating directly with contractors and monitoring construction progress.
- Collaborate closely with Department of State Hospital senior management and project stakeholders to align project goals and priorities.
- Work with architectural teams to conduct inspections, verify compliance, and document construction progress.
- Track and manage field orders, potential change orders (PCOs), and approve change orders as needed.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and other project participants.
- Oversee project controls, cost management, scheduling, and performance tracking in accordance with client requirements.
- Lead and facilitate project meetings; prepare meeting minutes, maintain documentation, and ensure proper administrative follow-up.
- Ensure all project participants adhere to safety standards, contractual obligations, and quality performance expectations.
- Manage logistics, organization, and safety throughout all phases of the project.
- Oversee project closeout, ensuring collection of guarantees, warranties, and all turnover documentation required for owner acceptance.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support overall project success.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture required. (Extensive relevant construction management experience may substitute for education.)Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager; experience with facility or institutional projects strongly preferred.Strong understanding of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.Knowledge of design-phase management, building codes, and permitting agencies.Proficiency in project controls, scheduling, estimating, cost management, and documentation.Industry Experience : Public sector, corrections / custodial, and healthcare construction experience highly desirable.Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple contractors and fast-paced projects simultaneously.Software Proficiency : Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with document control systems such as Procore and Bluebeam.OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred.The offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The salary range for this position is $100,000-$130,000.
