Burns & McDonnell's Power global practice is seeking to hire an experienced Electrical Engineer in the listed office location. The Power Division focuses on the design and construction of power generation facilities, including fossil, hydrogen, solar, nuclear, and energy storage. Projects also include other types of heavy industrial facilities, such as decarbonization, mining, and gas compression.

Engineered systems include the electrical interconnect to the bulk power grid and all auxiliary electric power equipment in the facility. Equipment includes rotating machines, such as generators and motors, solar photovoltaic panels, inverters, energy storage systems, such as batteries, large power transformers, generator circuit breakers, isolated phase bus duct, non-segregated phase bus duct, switchgear, motor control centers, small power transformers, variable frequency drives, station batteries, and UPS systems.

Responsibilities To Include

• Perform electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings.
• Design electrical components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
• Apply strong knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering / design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.
• Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers.
• Efficiently utilize a number of design software tools to perform engineering calculations and physical plant designs.
• Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
• Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations in support of project execution.
• Act as a field engineer on construction sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
