The Opportunity Awaits

As a Lead Auditor, you will contribute to audit engagements of various complexities, often participating in cross-functional, risk-based assurance and advisory projects. A vital aspect of this role includes testing models and related tools during audit engagements. You will provide support for Auditor-In-Charge (AIC) responsibilities while staying updated on financial services regulations, effectively engaging with regulators.

This role involves providing support and oversight across multiple audit engagements, participating in planning, fieldwork, and reporting. You will also manage strategic initiatives and help develop and implement a risk-based audit plan. Collaborating with subject matter experts within audit or the business will be essential to analyzing issues and enhancing internal controls. You will ensure adherence to the Institute of Internal Auditors' International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and its Code of Ethics.

This position offers a flexible work environment, with a requirement to be in the office 4 days each week, based at one of our locations : San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is available for this role.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Engage in continuous monitoring, advisory activities, special reviews, and investigations.
  • Complete assigned audit engagements objectively, professionally, and in a timely manner, following audit standards.
  • Identify control weaknesses, recommend improvements, and draft audits and reports for client leadership, conducting follow-up as necessary.
  • Enhance the quality of audit reviews and propose updates to the risk assessment based on audit findings.
  • Build strong client relationships to help drive strategic objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with business clients, conveying risk-based messages, and interacting with regulators and executive leaders.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to fellow auditors, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Contribute insights into the internal audit universe and risk profiles, updating risk assessment information.
  • Participate in the development and execution of the annual audit plan, addressing and mitigating risks.

Your Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Business, or Information Technology. Four additional years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in audit, insurance, banking, information technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in performing internal or external audits or applying audit, risk, or compliance knowledge in a complex operational and regulatory environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of audit theory and internal audit principles, with experience in evaluating and analyzing audit findings.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with business partners and influence outcomes.
  • Understanding of risks and internal controls, with the ability to assess their adequacy and efficiency.
  • Experience in mentoring and providing feedback to audit team members.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners in a cooperative environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • What Sets You Apart :

  • ACAS or FCAS designation.
  • Background in Property & Casualty model frameworks, encompassing pricing, reserving, and catastrophe modeling.
  • Advanced degree (Master's, PhD) in a quantitative field such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Science.
  • Deep knowledge of SR 11-7 and / or ASOP 56 standards.
  • Compensation Range : Salary range is $143,320 - $273,930.
