This role involves investigating crime and fraud, supporting security functions, and de-escalating critical events with sound judgment. The Investigator obtains and verifies evidence, interviews suspects and witnesses, analyzes records, and testifies in criminal justice proceedings. Other security-related functions may be required by the chain of command.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and determine scope, timing, and direction of crime and fraud investigations.
- Support all security functions to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- De-escalate critical events safely and engage with combative or escalating subjects using sound judgment.
- Obtain and verify evidence by interviewing and observing suspects and witnesses or by analyzing records.
- Identify case issues and evidence needed based on analysis of charges, complaints, or allegations of policy or law violations.
- Record evidence and documents using equipment such as cameras, photocopy machines, electronic medical records, access control systems, etc.
- Testify in criminal justice proceedings concerning criminal activity investigations.
- Perform other security-related functions as required by the chain of command.
Qualifications
Minimum Education : High School Diploma or GED.Minimum Experience : Four (4) years general security, military, or other public safety experience, with two (2) years in a related job where carrying a firearm is required (preferred). Two (2) years of investigative experience required.Licensure / Certification : None required by law.Additional Qualifications : Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (IAHSS) and Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) within one year of hire; Professional Certified Investigator (ASIS) within two years of hire; pass psychological screening during pre-employment; periodic on-call availability; travel up to 50% of time to Piedmont facilities; Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (IAHSS) preferred; BS / BA in related fields preferred; active Georgia P.O.S.T. certification preferred; may be required to carry a Taser CEW and / or expandable baton; may be required to carry a company-approved firearm and meet training requirements.J-18808-Ljbffr
