Primary Responsibilities :

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a dynamic Data Platform E ngineer to support cloud modernization initiatives for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) at Command Control Communication Computer Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) in the Alexandria VA area. This role is part of a high-impact program focused on delivering secure scalable cloud solutions that enable operational agility and resilience across the USCG enterprise.

As a Data Platform Engineer on the Operations team you will lead the evolution and governance of our multi- cloud data ecosystem. This strategic role is ideal for a hands-on architect and thought leader who can drive innovation across AWS and Azure platforms enabling scalable secure and intelligent data solutions that power analytics and business transformation. This role is essential to maintain operational integrity security compliance and performance across hybrid cloud deployments. Youll work closely with cloud engineers cybersecurity analysts and program leadership to drive continuous improvement and deliver value to the mission.

• Set technical operational direction for data infrastructure governance and platform engineering standards
• Partner with data science analytics and software teams to deliver high-impact solutions
• Drive modernization initiatives
• Evaluate emerging technologies and guide adoption strategies across the organization
• Champion data security compliance and cost optimization in multi-cloud environments
• Operational Technical Responsibilities
• Architect and implement scalable data pipelines lakes or warehouses using cloud-native tools
• Lead Infrastructure-as-Code deployments
• Optimize distributed data processing frameworks (e.g. Spark Databricks) for performance and reliability
• Oversee CI / CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platform components
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud data services to ensure uptime and resilience
• Work closely with developers network engineers and security teams to support cloud-based applications and services
• Support cross-functional coordination across engineering cybersecurity and program management teams
• Promote continuous improvement through feedback loops and process refinement
• Ensure alignment with USCG mission priorities and Leidos delivery standards

Pay Range $126100.00 - $227950.00
