JOB DESCRIPTION

Nurse

This position will be to provide a full time nurse for Pleasant Grove Independent School District. The nurse must be a Registered Nurse and registered with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.

The nurse will be employed to fill the position described above. Pay scale and classification will be the same as the Minimum Foundation Program of the State of Texas. The nurse will be directly responsible to the building principals and through them to the Superintendent of Schools.

Basic Duties and Responsibilities :

1) Acts within the guidelines of the Texas Education Agency, as interpreted by the

local school board and administered by the Superintendent.

2) Demonstrates current knowledge, understanding, and skill with respect to your

position.

3) Supervises the nurse's aides of the high school and elementary campuses

according to the school's health care needs.

4) Maintains accurate health records for the district.

5) Secures the necessary health care materials, equipment, and resource personnel for the district.

6) Administers and / or supervises all necessary screening for the district.

7) Administers medication according to school board policy.

8) Acts as resource person for health and science teachers.

9) Interacts effectively and professionally with students, co-workers, and parents.

10) Respects the confidence of instructional personnel and the administration.

11) Cooperatively participates in staff development and other professional duties.

12) Cooperatively performs other duties as assigned.
