This position is in Cargill's protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters. Forklift Operator is an important role to play in the daily operations of our facility. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. The types of roles available range from product selection, staging / scanning product, and loading product into trailers. In this role you will be responsible for making sure we have accurate order fulfilment and quality product delivered according to customer orders and requirements.

Job Type : Full time

Compensation : Between $20 / hr - $21 / hr plus shift differential

Shift Available : 2nd shift Sunday to Thursday 4pm to 1am

Accountabilities :

  • Performing repetitive and standardized warehouse operations
  • Examples may include but are not limited to : Pulling orders generated from the computer for morning deliveries
  • Operate forklift (stand up reach truck) to put away, rotate, and pull pallets out of the rack
  • Operate pallet jack to load / unload trailers
  • Stacking, scanning, and wrapping cases with stretch film
  • Clean, empty trashcans, general warehouse maintenance
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment : Hardhat, Steel toe Boots, Freezer suit

    • Requirements :

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
  • Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends and holidays with advance notice
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal / written)
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 80 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.
  • Able to operate machinery and / or industrial equipment (Forklift)

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Forklift certified
  • Experience working in a production or plant environment
  • Experience with stand up reach truck
