The Autonomy Systems Engineering team defines and validates autonomous control software functions for New Glenn. We ensure software integration with avionics, hardware, and human operators through concept, production, and operation. You will have a direct impact on the success of every launch!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Lead cross-functional teams of control engineers, subsystem designers, and operators to define control system behaviors.

Architect, document, and decompose design decisions into software requirements and unit tests.

Validate software behavior through test and analysis via simulation, Hardware-In-the-Loop testing, and integrated subsystem testing.

Triage, investigate, and fix software issues using test data on an aggressive schedule.

Develop tooling on the fly to tackle problems by writing your own scripts.

Push for process improvements with a sense of ownership and urgency

Minimum Qualifications :

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or a similar engineering field.

Aerospace related internship, research, or project experience.

Held a technical leadership position on an engineering team or sub team for competition.

Proficiency with engineering physics and closed-loop control principles.

Familiarity of systems engineering principles such as validation, verification, and Model-Based Design.

Ability to use Python and Matlab for data analysis.

Strong technical documentation skills.

Ability to support typical Monday to Friday work shifts with flexibility to surge support when commitments demand.

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Passionate about building the road to space.

Preferred Qualifications :

Launch system development experience.

Experience writing requirements for embedded systems.

Experience working in a Hardware-In-the-Loop test environment.

Experience with MATLAB / Simulink, Python, and Gitlab.

Proficiency with orbital mechanics.

Experience with safety-critical software development.

How to prepare :

We are solving challenging, new problems and we need people to represent a wide variety of perspectives. Experience in aerospace is not a requirement. We value broad academic and industry experiences such as Tech, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Automotive, and more.

Compensation Range for :

WA applicants is $78,943.00-$110,519.85

Required for certain Job Profiles : Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
