Tax Accountant – Buffalo, NY
A well-established client of ours is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its Tax department. This environment offers plenty of room for professional growth as well as intercompany promotions and transfer across their Accounting Department.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate income tax provisions, related financial statement analysis, and SEC disclosures
Support preparation of federal and state corporate income tax returns
Assist with tax planning projects aimed at maximizing cash flow and minimizing effective tax rate
Participate in federal and state income tax audits, including preparation of responses to data requests and notices
Test and document internal controls under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and update tax processes and controls as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Strong corporate tax experience in public and/or corporate settings
In-depth knowledge of ASC 740 and SOX compliance
Exceptional organization, analytical, and communication skills with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of corporate tax experience with a focus on corporate income tax provisions
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
CPA certification
Experience with tax software such as CorpTax and Oracle
