A company is looking for an Inpatient Complex Trauma Coder.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze codes and sequences from patient medical records for reimbursement and billing
Abstract information from medical records to support patient databases and medical research
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, reimbursement policies, and accreditation standards
Required Qualifications
Degree in Medical Record Sciences or completion of a certification program with eligibility for RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification
Certification must be obtained within one year of employment if eligible
Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and coding systems
Minimum of five years inpatient coding experience or two years at a level one trauma hospital
Certification as RHIT, RHIA, or CCS required
