Job Description The iFlex RN is part of Intermountain's internal travel agency for assignments. This is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. This RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Our iFlex Internal Travel Agency is hiring for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Behavioral Health Unit at Primary Children's Hospital Behavioral Health Center in Taylorsville, Utah. This unit provides compassionate, trauma-informed care to children and adolescents experiencing acute mental health crises. Serving ages 4-18 with behavioral and mental health diagnoses, we offer outpatient clinics, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient programs, and inpatient care. About The IFlex RN Role - Pediatric Behavioral Health As an iFlex RN in Pediatric Behavioral Health, you'll support young patients with psychiatric and emotional disorders in a safe, therapeutic environment. This role is ideal for nurses with behavioral health experience who are passionate about pediatric mental wellness. Key Responsibilities Provide direct care to patients with mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis, and behavioral challenges Administer medications and monitor for side effects Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers De-escalate crises and implement safety protocols Educate families on mental health conditions and treatment plans Document care accurately and sensitively Minimum Qualifications PALS certification Pediatric behavioral health experience or ED preferred Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date. Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution Compensation And Benefits $68-$75 / hour flat rate, adjusted quarterly Competitive pay aligned with travel RN market rates Pro-rated monthly housing reimbursement for assignments 50 miles from home Nurses secure their own housing during travel assignments Posting Specifics Shift : Variable (50 / 50) Schedule : Full-time 13-week assignment Travel Requirements Must be willing to float throughout Primary Children's Hospital Behavioral Health Center in Taylorsville, Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, and to Primary Children's Lehi Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. - and - Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. - and - Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. - and - Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. - and - Need to walk and assist with transporting / ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing / pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.). - and - May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period.
