Flying Hills Company is a construction and property management company which designed a desirable community of single homes, townhouses, condominiums and apartments. The company is nestled in the scenic green hills of southern Berks County The Superintendent will be a well-organized team player with a solid understanding of property management & construction. The successful candidate will be able to interface with professionals such as engineers, township personnel, lawyers, land planners, subcontractors, etc. in a polished manner. This position will interact internally with the Controller (fiscal matters) and provide updates to the Owner as needed.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate various projects with apartment renovation team, grounds maintenance team and aspects of new construction.
  • Scheduling and coordination of projects in logical steps and the timeframe necessary to meet each deadline.
  • Collaborate with contractors and design professionals to discuss and resolve issues, including work procedures, complaints, and construction or design issues.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with a variety of people, including owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespersons, and craft workers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Proven construction skills.
  • Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with budgets and financial statements.
  • Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated, self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems.

    • Education and Experience :

  • Minimum of ten years of construction experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Requires local travel.
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
