Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – New Jersey nursing jobs

BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)

ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)

Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience

Experience in Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg) or related specialties preferred

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission

Develop and implement individualized care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic health records

Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning from admission

Communicate changes in patient status to care team members for continuity and safety

Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees

Promote a safe clinical environment by following hospital safety policies and procedures

Contribute to unit teamwork and participate in team-building activities

Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
