Job descriptionThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance ( U.S. Citizenship Required ). The Company will assist in gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program. A bachelor's degree in engineering, material science or a related technical field is required. 7-10 years of leadership experience in an aerospace composites manufacturing field or related manufacturing field General understanding of AS9100 and NADCAP compliance requirements Must be familiar with a variety of the composite field's concepts, practices and procedures; must be able to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Must have good communication and teambuilding skills A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products and CAD software packages; some experience with CATIA is desirable Experience managing workflows through machine centers preferred Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language Medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer contribution Disability insurance as well as Life / AD&D insurance HSA (Health Savings Account) with employer contribution and FSA (Flexible Savings Account) 401k with employer matching Paid time off and paid holidays (including two floating holidays) Education reimbursement program Education reimbursement program available after 1-year of service Conduct a screening call with a Killeen Group recruiter Conduct 1-3 interviews with hiring company
The Killeen Group is seeking a Sr. Director of Operations on behalf of a leading manufacturer in Skagit County, WA. This growing company provides award-winning service to the commercial aerospace, space and defense markets.
The Sr. Director of Operations will work with a variety of employees in manufacturing and engineering across the company and our customers to ensure success. This position requires strong people-management skills and ability to communicate across multiple organizational boundaries and disciplines. This position manages of up to 100 personnel on three shifts.

Type : Salaried, Full-time
Salary : $150,000-$225,000 / yr + Bonus
Travel : On-site with potential opportunities for off-site
Duties :
- Interprets a broad range of engineering specifications including drawings, sketches, and written requirements.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes to provide a consistent flow of deliverables.
- Determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, or non-standard materials and monitors availability and delivery times with respect to production schedule.
- Directly responsible for the daily function of manufacturing cells and supervision of cell managers.
- Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
- Maintains heightened awareness of schedule for every project moving through the value stream to meet key project milestones.
- Works with project managers to identify and mitigate risk in the production process.
- Collaborates with engineering teams to design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow for optimal use of resources.
- Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
- Hires and trains next tier of technicians and leads to complete assigned work.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
