Civil Engineer

AECOM is seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer to join our Water Business Line in Oakland California . This strategic role offers an opportunity to lead and deliver complex coastal engineering projects in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. Youll work with senior engineers scientists and project managers to shape resilient coastal infrastructure contribute to climate adaptation strategies and drive innovation in technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities :

• Serve as a technical leader in the planning design and rehabilitation of coastal structures including seawalls revetments groins and nature-based (living shoreline) solutions.
• Conduct resiliency and vulnerability assessments for infrastructure exposed to flooding sea level rise and coastal storm impacts.
• Perform advanced wave modeling and statistical analyses (including spectral and wind-wave calculations) to inform project design and risk mitigation.
• Oversee development of technical tools workflows and standardized processes to enhance project efficiency and quality control.
• Lead preparation of technical deliverables including engineering reports cost estimates regulatory permits and specifications for infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate and manage coastal data collection and survey campaigns and integrate findings into project designs.
• Mentor supervise and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level coastal engineers and contribute to talent development within the Water group.
• Support client and stakeholder engagement and contribute to proposal development and project pursuits.
• Support identification and pursuit of key project opportunities for coastal engineering across the Pacific Coast and throughout the broader Pacific Region.
