Description
Position Summary
The Junior Financial Controller supports the financial management of a manufacturing operation with a focus on cost controlling, inventory, and operational finance. The role works closely with production, supply chain, and plant management to ensure accurate financial reporting and to translate operational performance into financial results.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Closing & Accounting Support
- Support monthly and quarterly closing activities
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Assist in ensuring accuracy of financial data and compliance with internal controls
Manufacturing Controlling & Costing
Support material, labor, and overhead cost trackingAssist in production variance and efficiency analysisContribute to cost calculations and cost structure transparencyOperational & Inventory Finance
Develop an understanding of material flow and manufacturing processesSupport inventory reporting, cycle counts, and physical inventory activitiesMonitor inventory valuation and related balance sheet positionsERP & Reporting (preferably with EPICOR)
Extract data from the ERP system and prepare structured financial and operational reportsBuild and maintain Excel-based analyses and reporting toolsSupport development of standardized reporting for plant managementPlanning & Financial Analysis
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processesSupport business planning activities and financial modelingTranslate operational developments into P&L impactSupport understanding and monitoring of key balance sheet items, especially working capitalAssist in maintaining and tracking a rolling 12-week cash flow forecast toolProcess Improvement
Contribute to improving financial processes, data quality, and reporting structuresRequirements
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business AdministrationExperience and Skills required
Minimum 3 years of job experience in accounting, finance, or controlling is requiredExperience in a manufacturing environment2+ years Experience working with EPICOR or others ERP systemsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to create structured reports from system data EPICORProficient and full understanding of financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash FlowBasic understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing processes (preferably injection molding)Personal Attributes
