Qualifications :
- Must possess a MA degree in Special Education, Psychology or a related area
- Must possess BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) certification or NY State Licensed Behavior Analyst
- Must possess NYS certification in Special Education or related area
- Must possess expertise in instruction, curriculum, and positive behavior supports for individuals with autism and / or developmental disability
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Responsibilities :
Provide behavioral support intervention to classroom staffProvide special instruction to students with disabilities with specific emphasis on social emotional development and PBISComplete FBA's, develop BIP's, update BIP's quarterlyProvide training on DDI's policy on challenging behaviors, ABA, PBIS, BIP'sProvide supervision to colleagues pursuing the BCBA credentialProvide parent trainingComplete educational evaluationsProvides Teacher coverage as necessaryEssential Functions :
Must be able to modify the area to secure safety of childrenAbility to move / transport a child weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of 3 feet to place child on changing tableMust be able to move quickly after a child up to 200 feet to prevent elopementMust be able to position self or maneuver classroom to facilitate student instruction in classroom and playground environmentMust have ability to follow oral and written directions and detect / respond to fire alarmsMust be able to ascend and descend stairs with railingEqual Opportunity Employer
