Survey Party Chief - Field Leadership Role

An established surveying and engineering environment is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead field survey operations in the Spearfish, SD area. This role is ideal for a hands-on survey professional who enjoys leading crews, working with modern survey technology, and contributing directly to civil and land development projects.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and supervise a field survey crew on boundary, topographic, and construction staking projects
• Operate GPS, robotic total stations, and related survey equipment
• Ensure accuracy, safety, and efficiency across all field activities
• Collaborate with surveyors and project teams to support design and construction needs
• Mentor junior staff and support their technical growth

What We're Looking For:

• 2-4 years of land surveying experience with field leadership exposure
• Strong working knowledge of GPS and modern survey instruments
• Ability to work independently while managing a crew
• Willingness to work outdoors and relocate if needed
