The Behavioral Health department provides comprehensive inpatient psychiatric and mental health services for adult and geriatric populations, with a strong focus on patient safety, compassion, and evidence-based treatment .

Position Overview

The Director of Behavioral Health oversees all clinical and administrative operations within the inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. This leader ensures compliance, fosters a culture of accountability and compassion, and drives continuous improvement in patient care outcomes.

You’ll be a key member of the hospital’s leadership team—responsible for departmental budgeting, regulatory readiness, staff mentorship, and strategic program growth in behavioral health.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor nursing and clinical teams to deliver safe, high-quality behavioral health care.
• Ensure all services comply with state, federal, and Joint Commission standards.
• Manage departmental budget , productivity, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and administrative teams to enhance program efficiency and patient outcomes.
• Develop and monitor quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics.
• Oversee and maintain readiness for audits, accreditation, and surveys.
• Drive employee engagement and promote a culture of teamwork and accountability.

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree preferred.

License : Active RN license (Compact or FL state license required).
