Linux Systems Administrator
JHNA is currently seeking a talented Linux Systems Administrator to support our NAVAIR customer at NAS Pax River.
Roles / Responsibilities :
- Installing, configuring and managing the Linux operating systems and related toolsets
- Gathering requirements, developing and conducting design reviews
- Maintaining servers to be compliant per NAVAIR and DISA policies
- Functional knowledge of backup and disaster recovery technologies
- Strong understanding of system security principles and experience executing hardening techniques
- Documentation – updating and maintaining documentation and knowledge base, including system descriptions, procedures, events and processes
- Building new infrastructure servers
- Maintaining, administering and patching systems for optimum performance and security
- Migrating or updating systems
- Participating in weekly routine maintenance tasks
- Responding to system failures promptly to bring applications back online
- Installing and troubleshooting common industry COTS and GOTS applications
- Performing Continuous Monitoring actions for systems and infrastructure including scanning, DoD STIG application and other Cyber compliancy actions
- Work in an Agile scrum methodology to track and report on tasking
- A background or working knowledge of scripting and automation tools
Qualifications Required :
Candidate must have a current Secret Clearance. Must have ability to obtain a Top Secret, Interim Top Secret required to start.Five (5) years' or more of hands-on experience working with UNIX / Linux and Windows.Experience in DoD Information Assurance / Cyber policy and procedures to include hardening of systems, implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and scanning.Experience with Linux Server to include the build, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as addressing, service requests, routine sever maintenance (firmware, failures, hardening, etc.), and server consolidation.Experience with UNIX / Linux, Red Hat, CentOS (Linux).DoD 8140 & 5239 compliant (Security + certified and OS certificate / certification) (formerly 8570).Working knowledge of supporting software development.Critical thinking skills and the ability to "think-outside-the-box" to solve complex technical issues is essential.Desired Qualifications :
Familiarity with containerization concepts and toolsUnderstanding of container orchestration and management ( Kubernetes, Docker Swarm ).Experience with CI / CD pipelines for containerized applications.Experience with Ansible
