Clinical Coding | Senior Auditor | Trainer

Seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Coding Auditor & Trainer to be responsible for developing, conducting, and evaluating coding training and audit programs to ensure compliance, accuracy, and consistency across inpatient coding operations. This role combines deep clinical knowledge with coding and audit expertise to identify process improvements, enhance documentation accuracy, and mentor coding professionals. The ideal candidate is an experienced clinical professional with a strong understanding of inpatient coding, auditing, and regulatory requirements, as well as demonstrated leadership and training abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related clinical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Current, valid state nursing license required.
• Current CPC, CIC, or CCS certification required.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in nursing, coding, training, or auditing within a managed care or hospital environment.
• Minimum 4 years of experience auditing inpatient coding.
• 1+ year of direct clinical experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in coding software, EHR systems, and audit tools.

This role will sit REMOTE with 10% Travel (twice a year to New York, NY)
