Rental Equipment Mechanic

Essential Functions :

• Provides excellent customer service to our internal and external customers.
• Cleans all rental equipment.
• Conducts repairs and maintenance on rental equipment; generates purchase orders for repairs or required maintenance.
• Purchases small tools and any supplies needed to repair the equipment.
• Inspects equipment on a regular basis to comply with company safety policies.
• Assists in updating DMV registration and current insurance.
• Checks out customers at the rental counter, including completing contracts, taking payment and instructing customer on how to use the item.
• Deliver and pick up rental items as needed.
• Set up and take down rental equipment if requested.
• Help load and unload equipment as needed.
• Help out in lumber yard and inside the store as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility :

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment :

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands :

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; read, talk or hear.
• The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
• The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work :

• This is a full-time position, scheduled 45 hours / week.  Days and hours of work can be between 7 : 00 a.m. and 8 : 00 p.m.
• Must be available to work weekends.

Travel :

• Must have a valid drivers license to deliver and pick up rental equipment as needed.

Required Education and Experience :

• High school diploma or GED diploma or one to three years of related experience or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 1+ years knowledge of general machine maintenance.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Chauffeur’s license preferred but not required.
