The Sr Manager, HR Operations is responsible for operational HR leadership support across Advarra's U.S. locations, while also offering guidance and governance globally. This role oversees end-to-end HR operations and special projects to ensure processes, systems, and service delivery are efficient, compliant, and aligned with business goals. Partnering closely with HR leadership, business partners, and other stakeholders, this position drives continuous improvement, designs and implements scalable processes, and delivers an exceptional employee experience across all phases of the employee lifecycle.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize HR operations to deliver high-quality services including onboarding, offboarding / terminations, internal transfers, HR data management, and employee records.
  • Design, implement, and enhance HR processes (e.g., recruitment handoffs, onboarding, offboarding, promotion / compensation cycles, performance management support) to drive efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional and special projects related to HR operations, process improvement, and operational transformation, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Develop and implement governance frameworks to ensure compliance with employment laws, data privacy regulations, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners, talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, learning & development, and IT to ensure HR operations enable business goals and contribute to the overall HR strategy.
  • Oversee compliance deliverables such as EEO-1, Pay Equity, Affirmative Action Plans, and other reporting or audit requirements.
  • Serve as primary contact for audits and investigations, ensuring adherence to audit standards, participation in corrective actions, and implementation of process improvements when necessary.
  • Draft, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures, providing training to HR staff and business leaders to ensure consistent understanding and application.
  • Manage vendor and outsourcing relationships to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery.
  • Develop, monitor, and report HR operations metrics and performance indicators, using insights to recommend and implement process enhancements.
  • Lead and develop the HR Operations team through coaching, goal-setting, professional development, and accountability.
  • Champion change and process excellence by driving process automation, simplification, and standardization initiatives across global HR operations.

This role is open to candidates working remotely in the United States.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's or relevant HR certification preferred).
  • Significant experience in HR (typically 7+ years), including 3+ years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes / functions (onboarding / offboarding, HRIS, data / document management, employee life-cycle, compliance) and ability to manage and improve them.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven project management expertise with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, drive timelines, manage stakeholders, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated change management and communication skills; able to influence across levels, build partnerships, and foster a culture of accountability and service excellence.
  • Deep understanding of employment legislation, compliance risk, privacy / data protection and operational controls.
  • Continuous improvement mindset : process optimization and continuous improvement, able to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions (process mapping, automation, vendor management).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and align HR operational priorities with evolving business objectives.
  • Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation
  • Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.

    The base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $177,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
