Description :
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, rack, cable, and decommission servers, storage devices, and network equipment.
- Perform routine hardware diagnostics, replacements, and upgrades (e.g., hard drives, memory, NICs).
- Monitor and manage environmental conditions, including power, cooling, and humidity levels.
- Perform inventory management, including asset tagging, tracking, and updating system records.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware failures, connectivity issues, and cabling problems.
- Support remote teams by performing physical tasks per instruction (e.g., console access, power cycling).
- Maintain cleanliness and cable management standards in the data center.
- Assist with on-call rotation and respond to incidents during and outside of normal working hours.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with data center security policies.
- Document changes and maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents.
Required Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+) or associate degree in IT or related field preferred.1-3 years of experience working in a data center, IT support, or similar hands-on technical role.Familiarity with server hardware, network devices, and structured cabling standards (Cat5e / 6, fiber).Experience with basic IP networking, patch panels, and console server access.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.Ability to lift / move up to 50 pounds and work in physically demanding environments.Willingness to work flexible hours, shifts, and occasional weekends or holidays.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with data center infrastructure monitoring tools (DCIM).Familiarity with ITIL practices or ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).Knowledge of enterprise hardware from vendors like Dell, Client, Cisco, or Juniper.Understanding of power systems (PDUs, UPS) and cooling infrastructure.
