Full-Charge Bookkeeper Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage accounting processes and collaborate with our Finance Manager on budget planning and cash flow management. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing daily accounting operations, and providing financial reporting to management. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities :
Accounts Receivable
- Make journal entries from various software programs to Quickbooks as needed
- Generate monthly income reports
- Make bookstore inventory adjustments
Accounts Payable
Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding to appropriate accountsMaintain vendor files and relationshipsSchedule and process vendor payments in a timely mannerMonitor cash flow for payment planningNegotiate payment terms with vendors when appropriatePrepare 1099 forms for independent contractorsBank, Credit Card, and Departmental Accounting Reconciliations
Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all accountsReconcile corporate credit card statementsConduct departmental accounting reconciliationsInvestigate and resolve discrepancies in financial recordsDocument reconciliation processes and maintain audit trailsAdditional Responsibilities
Support external auditors during annual audit processesMaintain compliance with financial policies and proceduresQualifications
3+ years of experience in full-charge bookkeeping or accountingProficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)Strong knowledge of GAAP principlesExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality with financial informationExperience with Excel and other MS Office applicationsExperience with educational institutions a plusEducation
Associate's degree in Accounting or related field (Bachelor's preferred)Professional certification (such as Certified Bookkeeper) is a minimum requirementSkills
