Job Description\n
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Embracing the Select Medical Way and Core Values, the RN ensures a focus on patient and employee safety within a teamwork-oriented environment.
\n\nResponsibilities\n \n
Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming an individualized plan of care.\n
Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with the patient / family and interdisciplinary team.\n
Provide accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in medical records.\n
Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on education for patients and their families based on identified healthcare needs.\n
Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.\n
Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.\n
Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.\n
Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to hospital and nursing policies and procedures.\n
Assume charge responsibility following the orientation period when requested.\n
Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.\n \n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n \n
BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.\n
ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).\n
Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.\n \n\nSchedule\n
Day shift, 3x12.0 hours per week.
