Summary :
The skilled Registered Nurse in Surgery PreAdmit Screen functions independently in a clinical setting and demonstrates comprehensive situational awareness. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, with a focus on long-term goals and plans. The Registered Nurse actively develops strategies to manage clinical contingencies and effectively delegates tasks to other care providers.
Responsibilities :
- Meets expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Delivers nursing care in line with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Addresses the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families according to their nursing practice level.
- Administers medications and treatments according to established protocols; monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Documents comprehensive patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assesses patient and caregiver learning needs, providing education and identifying relevant issues and resources.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills :
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.Experience :
At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :
BLS certification required.Current RN License in the state of employment or compact state license.Work Schedule : 5 Days - 8 Hours
