Surgery PreAdmit Screen Registered Nurse

Summary :

The skilled Registered Nurse in Surgery PreAdmit Screen functions independently in a clinical setting and demonstrates comprehensive situational awareness. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, with a focus on long-term goals and plans. The Registered Nurse actively develops strategies to manage clinical contingencies and effectively delegates tasks to other care providers.

Responsibilities :

• Meets expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Delivers nursing care in line with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Addresses the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families according to their nursing practice level.
• Administers medications and treatments according to established protocols; monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Documents comprehensive patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses patient and caregiver learning needs, providing education and identifying relevant issues and resources.
