Job description

A newly established, rapidly expanding investment platform built to unite and scale multiple high-performing insurance organizations is seeking a bookkeeper in Jericho, NY. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions of the holding company and its subsidiaries. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, managing payables and receivables, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end closings, and supporting financial reporting for company leadership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and thrives in a start-up environment where structure is still being built. They take initiative, meet deadlines, and enjoy being part of a fast-growing organization poised for long-term success.

Salary Range : $75,000 - $85,000 / Year DOE

Bookkeeper Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Process and record premium payments, commissions, and vendor invoices
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support audits and compliance
  • Prepare and assist with month-end close and general ledger reconciliations
  • Track and manage credit card and expense reports
  • Support the CFO and the leadership team with ad hoc reporting and special projects
  • Collaborate with internal departments and company subsidiaries to ensure accurate accounting entries
  • Assist with financial integrations as new entities are brought under the holding company

Bookkeeper Requirements :

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Experience with EPIC accounting software preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Experience working within a holding company or insurance industry preferred
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • CPA designation is a plus
