The Area Production Manager drives high-performance production operations by leading, developing, and empowering teams across safety, quality, planning, inventory management, and order fulfillment. This role champions lean manufacturing and continuous improvement while fostering strong employee engagement and a culture of accountability. As a visible leadership and safety role model, the manager ensures operational excellence today and positions the business to meet the evolving needs of customers and the company's strategic initiatives.
What You Will Do
- Lead and Develop Production Teams : Optimize staffing and workflow, coach and mentor employees, monitor performance, and maintain open, collaborative communication.
- Implement robust training programs (job skills, lean, quality, QEHS) to build capability, support succession planning, and meet evolving business needs.
- Champion Workplace Safety : Drive a proactive safety culture by enforcing safety policies, leading Safe Start initiatives, addressing hazards, and ensuring strong housekeeping to eliminate unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Deliver on Production Goals and KPIs : Achieve targets across safety, delivery, schedule execution, quality, cost, employee engagement, inventory management, and talent development.
- Lead Continuous Improvement and Key Initiatives : Identify performance opportunities and apply Panduit's Operating Model to drive CI efforts. Advance lean, Six Sigma, productivity, innovation, and best-practice sharing. Evaluate new technologies and lead capital or process enhancements.
- Manage Resources, Capacity, and Financial Performance : Oversee short- and long-term capacity planning, staffing, and accurate routings. Prepare budgets, lead cost-reduction efforts, optimize capital spending, and manage monthly financial performance.
- Support Business Initiatives and Cross-Functional Collaboration : Contribute to safety programs, product transitions, lean efforts, and technology / automation projects. Collaborate with business units and partners to achieve broader operational and business objectives.
What You Will Bring
Education : Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or business required; or relevant equivalent experience in lieu of degree.Experience : 8-10 years in manufacturing, with 5-10 years of leadership experience.Machining Knowledge : Ability to read prints, understand tolerances, support setups and troubleshoot process issues.Scheduling & Planning Experience : Experience ensuring machines are staffed, materials are ready, and customer orders ship on time.Lean / Continuous Improvement Skills : Skilled with Leading 5S, eliminating waste, and driving efficiency.What We Can Offer You
