NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Job in New Haven, Connecticut

NICU RN Job Details

Location : New Haven, Connecticut (06510) – Connecticut nursing jobs

Healthcare Setting : Level IV NICU, Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 1 / 2 / 2026 – End : 4 / 3 / 2026)

Shifts : Rotating Day (7 : 00am – 7 : 00pm) and Night (7 : 00pm – 7 : 00am), 3x12-hour shifts per week

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours / week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2100-$2250

Patient Ratio : 1 : 2-4

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Charting System : Epic

Parking : On-site, $125 / month

NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent NICU RN experience (1.5 years accepted with Level I or travel nurse experience)

Active Connecticut RN license (pending accepted, must be active prior to start)

Current BLS and NRP certifications required

Proficient in IVs, central lines, OG / NG feeds, and phlebotomy skills

Ability to float within scope to all pediatric units as needed

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

One professional reference required

Must complete required modules prior to start date

Local candidates (within 75 miles) not accepted

NICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate neonatal care to patients in a 68-bed Level IV NICU

Manage and monitor IVs, central lines, OG / NG feeds, and perform phlebotomy procedures

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, and social services

Utilize Epic for electronic charting and Mobile Heartbeat / Connected Care for patient communication and alarms

Care for neonates as early as 22 weeks gestation in both private and semi-private rooms

Float to other pediatric units as needed to support facility needs

Participate in self-scheduling and work every other weekend
