CAD Designer Support

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The main duties include, but are not limited to:

• Creating Models and Drawings for the Saturn recap project for 6-12 months;
• Working closely with mechanical engineers, design engineers, and controls engineers;
• Cycling through an iterative design process requiring strong configuration management and quality control experience;
• Collaborating with engineers throughout the drawing phase prior to modeling; and
• Working with routing, schematics, piping systems, sheet metal, welding and weldments.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design Technology (CADD) OR four years of equivalent experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience using CAD software Creo Parametric and PDMLink tools;
• Able to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to drawings;
• Able to acquire and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance;
• Ability to work in a diverse work environment;
• Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below); and
• Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in experimental hardware design;
• Experience with assembly size in the 1,000s;
• Experience with Stack Analysis;
• Experience with routing and schematics;
• Experience with welding and weldments as well as piping systems and sheet metal;
• Experience with Windchill;
• Experience with Pulsed Power Systems (mechanical systems in extreme high current and voltage environments); and
  
• Currently hold DOE clearance or equivalent.
