Rigger Job Summary
The Rigger is responsible for safely setting up and executing lifting, hoisting, and load-handling operations using rigging gear, slings, shackles, and cranes. This role supports construction, subsea, or heavy equipment activities by ensuring all loads are safely secured and moved according to lift plans and safety standards.
Rigger Responsibilities
- Prepare and inspect rigging equipment before use
- Attach loads to lifting equipment using slings, chains, and shackles
- Signal crane operators and guide loads during lifting operations
- Follow detailed lift plans and instructions from the lifting supervisor or foreman
- Ensure all rigging activities meet safety regulations and standards
- Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping in the work area
- Participate in toolbox talks and job safety analyses (JSA)
Rigger Requirements
2+ years of experience in rigging or lifting operationsValid Rigger Certification (e.g., OPITO, NCCER, or equivalent)Familiarity with cranes, winches, and lifting gearValid offshore survival, medical, and HUET certifications (if offshore)Good physical condition and strong safety awarenessAbility to read load charts and communicate effectively with the lifting teamLI-Onsite
