Manager, Public Relations and Communications
JOB SUMMARY
The American Nurses Enterprise (ANE) is seeking to hire a seasoned Public Relations and Communications Manager to work across ANE and lead a small team of public relations specialists. As the Public Relations and Communications Manager, you will lead the strategy, development, execution and evaluation of integrated public relations and strategic communications for the organization.
In this role, you will focus on effectively communicating the brand, vision, and strategic objectives among a wide range of internal and external audiences, translating policy, issues, and programmatic work into communications and media opportunities for ANE.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead and deliver integrated efforts to effectively position the organization as a leading voice and top resource on nurses, the nursing profession and healthcare
 - Lead and deliver executive communications to bolster thought-leadership visibility through speech writing, creating and / or editing presentations and other methods of communication
 - Lead and maintain effective environmental scanning and listening
 - Develop and implement rapid response efforts and systems on issues and events in the external environment
 - Operationalize and lead ANE’s crisis communication policies and strategies
 - Cultivate and nurture relationships with mainstream media outlets in print, broadcast, and online outlets
 - Facilitate, design, and implement a media training program for key stakeholders
 - Spearhead ANE multi-media strategies to include, video, PSAs, media relations, social media, and executive communications to bolster integrated efforts and effectively reach nurses and all key audiences
 - Develop and evolve integrated communication strategies that support the communication efforts of ANE’s constituent and state nurses’ associations, creating constructive collaboration with ANE around integration of content, messaging, and best practices
 - Develop and direct processes to ensure materials and content convey key messages and meet quality standards with a focus on meeting stakeholders’ needs
 - Develop, implement, and lead the organization's executive communications program, including development of a thought leadership program for the Enterprise
 - Design, develop, and implement a robust reporting program in support of strategic communications objectives.
 
WHAT YOU BRING TO ANA
Education :
An undergraduate degree from a 4-year institution required (in advertising, marketing or communications preferred), master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years of public relations or corporate communications experience, with a minimum of 4 years managing a teamRecord of proven and demonstrable accomplishments in public relations and communications within a complex organizationExceptional communication skills including, listening, written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillsInnovative, creative thinker, with a record of accomplishment for translating ideas into action plansAdvanced group facilitation and public speaking skillsPolitically astute with organizational savvy and excellent judgmentProven ability to analyze, prioritize and execute complex tasks under deadline and to dedicate extra time when necessary to complete assignments and achieve desired resultsSkilled collaborator able to build solutions in a politically sensitive, high visibility work environmentOutstanding human relations skills with the ability to motivate and coach staffStrong organizational and project management skills and attention to detailFlexibility in dealing with changing priorities and demanding workloadDemonstrated ability to recognize and appreciate cultural differences and meet the needs of individuals and organizations from diverse backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, and racesSuperior skills in media and public relationsExperience integrating digital and social media into communication campaignsResourceful, lifelong learner able to tap into professional networksAble to perform well under deadline stress, with strong drive to achieve resultsStrong work ethic and positive attitudeCollegial, positive, innovative work styleAbility to multi-task without losing critical attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively with org-wide teams in a fast-paced work environmentFlexibility and diplomacy in dealing with changing priorities and demanding workloadPreferred Skills & Experience
