MISSION : The Lead Audio Engineer will lead our team of audio engineers at Soundcheck Nashville. Reporting directly to the Rehearsal Studio General Manager, the Lead Engineer will manage engineer scheduling, audio equipment maintenance, inventory control, and client relations. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for mentoring engineers of varying skill levels, from recent graduates to seasoned road professionals, in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
OUTCOMES :
- Supervise and mentor a team of audio engineers, providing training and development to support skill growth for both entry-level and veteran engineers
- Supervise and coordinate daily work activities of the audio engineering team
- Ensure consistent audio quality across all rehearsals, including setup and mixing
- Assist in the development and compliance of audio standards, protocols, and best practices.
- Maintain documentation of audio setups and project notes
- Oversee maintenance, repair, and upkeep of audio equipment across 10 (soon to be 13) rehearsal studios to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Manage strict inventory control of audio equipment, tracking assets and coordinating with the Rehearsal Studio General Manager to address equipment needs
- Collaborate with the Booking Manager to advance rehearsals and ensure seamless client experiences, maintaining strong relationships with a growing customer base of 600+ independent clients
- Work closely with the Rehearsal Studio General Manager, Production Studio General Manager, and Production Studio Managers to align audio operations with broader facility goals
- Schedule engineers for rehearsals, balancing workload and availability to meet client demands while minimizing overtime
- Act as a key point of contact for clients and the engineering team, addressing technical needs and ensuring high satisfaction for diverse tours and productions
- Work with rehearsals to manage and coordinate RF across the building
Requirements
COMPETENCIES :
3+ years of experience in audio engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership roleProven ability to manage, train and mentor engineers with varying skill levels, from recent graduates to experienced professionalsStrong technical knowledge of audio equipment maintenance, repair, and inventory managementStrong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, and audio processingExceptional interpersonal and client relation skills, with a track record of delivering excellent customer serviceAbility to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with industry-standard audio systems and software (e.g., SoundBase Pro, Shure, Sennheiser, Dante, Waves, proficiency in various console operations).Experience using RF coordinating software like Shure Wireless Workbench and SoundBase Coord.CULTURAL
