The Vice President (VP), VA Accounts will serve as the strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive account plan aligned to the customer's long-term priorities. In this role, you will strengthen our presence within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) – with a primary focus on VHA and VBA – and elevate our position as a trusted partner. You will lead customer engagement, drive innovation, influence strategic capture efforts, and promote the full breadth of our corporate capabilities. This position plays a critical role in reinforcing the company's reputation and expanding our footprint across the VA customer community.
Responsibilities
Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with mid- and senior-level leaders across the VA enterprise, with an emphasis on VHA and VBA.
Deliver forward-looking assessments of customer direction, priorities, trends, and strategic opportunities across a 3–5 year horizon.
Provide strategic planning insights related to mission evolution, funding profiles, and acquisition approaches.
Serve as a thought leader able to articulate differentiated solutions in enterprise-managed IT, data programs, and technology-enabled healthcare innovations.
Develop and execute a customer-specific account strategy and long-term goals.
Lead, coordinate, and unify internal engagement to present a consistent corporate message to the customer.
Drive win strategies for strategic captures and support business development and capture teams across the organization.
Offer informed input into proposal development, pricing, and solution strategy based on customer knowledge.
Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with industry leaders to spur innovation and enable new business opportunities.
Coordinate meetings with industry partners to gather market intelligence on acquisition strategies, timing, and contract vehicles.
Contribute to competitive intelligence reporting with timely insights on customer, partner, and competitor activities.
Conduct assessments of ongoing contract / task performance and relay results to internal stakeholders.
Engage regularly with executives, functional leaders, staff, and customers across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (preferably in a technical or health-related field) and 15+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 13+ years of experience.
Established relationships and deep expertise within VHA and VBA.
13+ years of experience leading or managing teams.
Extensive understanding of government customers, doctrine, requirements, and operating environments.
Demonstrated access to key government stakeholders and industry partners.
Strong knowledge of federal budget, investment, and acquisition processes.
Proven ability to translate innovative ideas into actionable solutions that drive measurable business growth.
Experience operating within a complex, multi-faced organization with broad customer offerings.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Track record of successful account management across diverse acquisition sizes.
Self-starter with strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently.
Ability to operate confidently at the senior executive level with strong influence, negotiation, and closing skills.
