As a Security Professional - Retail Access Control in Aberdeen, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a retail or mall location, you will monitor entrances and exits, conduct routine patrols, and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. Your role includes providing outstanding customer service, maintaining clear communication, and assisting visitors and staff as needed. Job Schedule : DayTime Thur 11 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM Fri 11 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM Sat 07 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM Sun 07 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM.

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Assist with access control procedures at the location, verifying credentials and managing entry and exit points for authorized individuals.
  • Provide customer service by responding to inquiries and offering assistance to visitors, tenants, and / or employees at the retail or mall location.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access and / or suspicious activity by maintaining a visible presence and monitoring assigned areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to observe and report any security-related concerns or irregularities.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and / or maintenance issues as required by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Support emergency response activities as needed, following established protocols and collaborating with local authorities when appropriate.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a Guard Card or license, preferred.
  • Possess a current CPR and / or First Aid certification, preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
