The Retail Associate plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by providing outstanding customer service, maintaining the bakery’s retail displays, and ensuring a welcoming and clean environment. This role is responsible for assisting customers with their purchases, answering product questions, packaging baked goods, and supporting daily operations of the retail area.
Key Responsibilities :
- Greet every customer warmly and create a friendly, inviting atmosphere.
- Assist customers with product selections, offering recommendations and answering questions about baked goods and merchandise.
- Accurately process sales transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handling cash, credit card, and other forms of payment.
- Package bakery items with care, ensuring presentation and quality standards are maintained.
- Restock shelves, displays, and cases to ensure products are attractively presented and readily available.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the retail area, including counters, shelves, and floors.
- Monitor inventory levels of retail items and notify management of low stock or potential shortages.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines in handling products.
- Collaborate with team members and management to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist with special orders, events, or promotions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to support the overall success of the team and organization.
Qualifications :
Previous customer service or retail experience preferred.
Friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for excellent customer service.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
Basic math and cash-handling skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
