Summary :
The Certified Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting patient care by performing various tasks, including accurate data entry for patient registration and insurance verification. This position requires the ability to exercise good judgment and effective communication with patients, families, licensed personnel, insurance companies, and third-party payers. A professional and compassionate demeanor is essential.
Responsibilities :
- Meet the expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in delivering exceptional medical care.
- Perform accurate data entry for charges on patient accounts, register patients, and update patient accounts.
- Conduct insurance verification and maintain accurate statistics.
- Help with scheduling patient appointments, managing phone communications, keeping providers updated on changes, and informing patients about their benefits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills :
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.Experience :
1 year of medical office experience preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.BLS certification is required.Work Schedule : 5 Days - 8 Hours
