Equipment Operator

As an Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in the construction, maintenance, and repair of county roads and related systems. You'll be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of light to heavy-duty equipment to ensure the safety and functionality of our county's road infrastructure.
Salary Range : $25.89 - $36.26 / hr.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or maintenance setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining heavy equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for equipment operation.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Essential Functions :
Operates specialized light to heavy duty equipment such as hand tools, weeds sprayers, compactors, backhoe, front-end loader, water truck, tack wagon; power broom / street sweeper, chipper, roller, tractor, trucks, dump trucks, vac truck, snow plow and sanders and other similar equipment in the maintenance, construction and repair of county road system; clears culverts of debris; repairs pot holes, highway shoulders, and snow removal operations.Performs all duties as assigned related to street, road and right-of-way maintenance.Checks and services assigned equipment and other equipment as directed; performs routine maintenance and emergency repairs; reports mechanical problems to the shop for repair; operates a variety of hand and power tools in performing general maintenance of vehicles and equipment.Performs duties with due regard for personal safety, that of other employees and the public; performs as a flagger when assigned to assure safety while working on highways.Performs related duties as assigned.
