$2,786 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Ultrasound Technologist

Profession : Imaging

Specialty : General Imaging

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 8hr Day Shift

Hours per Shift : 40

Experience : No experience required

License : Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen and OB / GYN, Vascular Technologist (RVT) or equivalent, Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) or equivalent within specified time frames

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

Must-Have :

Competency in general and / or vascular sonographic procedures.

Ability to use independent judgment to differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.

Knowledge of aseptic techniques.

Effective communication skills with patients and caregivers.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments.

Flexibility in scheduling and adaptability to change.

Description :

Operates ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and / or cardiac procedures.

Accurately differentiates between normal and pathological findings.

Reviews patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information.

Obtains necessary clinical information from patients and ensures exam accuracy.

Positions patients and selects proper transducer and technical factors.

Ensures safety and comfort of patients.

Uses cognitive sonographic skills to adapt procedures as needed.

Accurately identifies and labels images for documentation.

Maintains records in accordance with regulatory agencies.

Documents billing codes to ensure patient charges are accurate.

Identifies equipment performance issues and communicates to appropriate staff.

Analyzes sonograms and communicates findings to the appropriate physician.

Demonstrates knowledge necessary to provide age-appropriate care.

Assesses data reflective of patient status and interprets information needed for care.

Maintains knowledge of department policies and protocols.

Able to lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.

Must be able to lift and carry specified weights safely.

Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing.

May be exposed to various hazards; personal protective equipment required.

Operates all equipment necessary to perform job duties.
