Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Nutrition Specialist to join our Cura Hospitality team in Newton, KS. As a Nutrition Specialist, you will assess and address the nutritional needs of patients / residents, initiate interventions to maintain their nutritional status, and contribute to enhancing their quality of life.

This position will be scheduled for 1 day per week (either Mondays or Fridays)

Key Responsibilities :

Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team while educating patients / residents, staff, or consultants.

Adhere to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' standards and facility regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with other departments to establish procedures and policies and address issues related to dining service and nutrition.

Engage in the development, review, and refinement of continuous quality improvement programs.

Qualifications : Must-haves :

Bachelor's degree in nutrition (prior to 2024) or a related field.

Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.

Passed a national examination by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or met eligibility requirements set by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Completion of 75 hours of continuing education every five years, in accordance with the CDR.

Licensed or certified as per state requirements.

Knowledge of regulatory standards for assessments, care planning, and residents' rights.

Able to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in healthcare or long-term care environments.

Work Location :

Newton Presbyterian Manor, located in Newton, KS.

Compensation :

$33.00 - $36.00 per hour, based on experience.
