Day to day :
The role supports CHOA’s mission to provide a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, families, and staff. Every team member contributes to creating a healthy environment aligned with CHOA’s values : People first. Children always. Core Responsibilities Wash, sanitize, and store pots, pans, dishes, and utensils in designated areas. Retrieve dirty trays from patient units promptly. Dispose of department trash and sanitize garbage cans regularly. Sweep and mop dish room, kitchen, storeroom, and office floors as scheduled. Clean and maintain carts and shelving used for food and supply storage. Rotate stock on a first-in / first-out basis. Support safe patient care by maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the food service areas. Qualifications Education : High School Diploma or GED preferred. Experience : Entry-level; prior experience as a sanitation worker in a hospital is preferred. Skills : Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to be cross trained within the Food Service department..
