Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Duration: 3 to 6 months (Full-Time Contract)
Location/Travel: Monday–Friday, On-Site Travel Required
Commitment: Contractor must verbally commit to completing the duration of the assignment.

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Consultant to join our team as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in Dynamics 365 Finance (formerly D365 F&O) and a proven track record in delivering successful enterprise-level implementations. This role requires excellent communication skills, professional presence, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, project managers, and team members.

Key Functions & Duties

Lead the implementation and configuration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance modules.
Analyze client business processes and requirements, translating them into effective system solutions.
Provide subject matter expertise on financial management, reporting, and compliance within D365 Finance.

Customize and configure D365 Finance to meet client-specific needs and industry requirements.
Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain project plans, deliverables, and timelines.
Facilitate workshops, training, and knowledge transfer sessions with client stakeholders.
Provide guidance on best practices for financial processes, controls, and reporting within D365 Finance.

Identify gaps, propose solutions, and ensure smooth integration with third-party or legacy systems.
Support user acceptance testing (UAT), troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful system adoption.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary Finance consultant throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Maintain clear and professional communication with stakeholders and client teams.
Contribute to project documentation, including functional requirements and process flows.
Ensure project milestones are met on time and within scope.
Adapt quickly to client customizations and unique project challenges.
Uphold a professional demeanor while representing the client’s brand and values.

Required Experience

Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in Finance roles, with strong ERP/Dynamics 365 Finance (F&O) consulting experience.
3+ full lifecycle implementations of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance (or Dynamics AX).

Proven background in client-facing consulting roles with a focus on Finance operations.
Strong understanding of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Budgeting, and Cash & Bank Management.
Experience delivering projects that included client-specific customizations.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences.

Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, developers, and end users.
Demonstrated success working in fast-paced, deadline-driven consulting environments.

Certifications Required
Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate
Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert (preferred)

Other Requirements

Willingness and ability to travel Monday–Friday for the duration of the contract.
Professional demeanor and ability to maintain strong client relationships.
Independent contractor status (must provide own business entity/1099 eligibility).
Must verbally commit to staying for the entire duration of the assignment (3–6 months).
