This role is ideal for individuals committed to equity, who enjoy engaging with a diverse range of people, and who seek to create a positive library experience. A love for books is a plus. Patience, adaptability, and attention to detail are essential, as you’ll perform various tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all patrons as they enter the library, ensuring they feel valued.
• Engage with visitors of all ages and backgrounds, assisting them in navigating library resources and services.
• Support patrons by checking materials in and out, registering new library cardholders, and answering inquiries about library offerings.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and patrons in-person and digitally to ensure smooth operations and collaboration.
• Welcome community groups using the library’s meeting rooms, providing guidance on available resources.
• Approach interactions with empathy, particularly when assisting patrons facing challenges.
• Perform additional duties as required, including but not limited to registering patrons for programs, recommending books, and more.

Compensation

$16.09-20.11 (step schedule, based on experience)

Work Schedule

37.5 hours per week, with a flexible schedule, including weekend rotations.
