The role\nwill assume responsibility for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating\nnursing practice on a unit level. Role assumes 24 / 7 responsibility of Manager's assigned areas. The role\nis accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of\nclinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.\nThe Nurse Manager is responsible for efficient day-to-day operations of the department and optimum use\nof resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs. - Coordinates and directs the daily patient care operations of the unit.\n
- Maintains the performance of the operational aspects of a designated unit(s) while providing\nmentoring and leadership support to the unit(s) staff\n
- Delegates appropriate tasks to appropriate personnel, consistent with legal and professional\nguidelines and departmental standards.\n
- Demonstrates knowledge and educates staff concerning the philosophy, objectives, policies and\nprocedures of the unit, department, and hospital.\n
- Identifies appropriate internal controls of department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce\ncompliance.\n
- Demonstrates team player mentality with highly effective team building skills.\n
- Fosters positive relationships and maintains clear communication with all customers including, but not\nlimited to staff, physicians, patients, and visitors.\n
- Provides leadership, support by serving as a resource to staff, and provides direct patient care when\nrequired.\n
- Meets job-specific, department-specific competencies, as well as any others determined by nursing\nleadership.\n
- Knowledgeable and ensures compliance of JCAHO and other regulatory requirements.\n

Education : RN with current applicable state licensure / permit.\nProfessional Requirement : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing\nPreferred : Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing.
Experience : Required - Nursing experience plus 1 year of progressive management experience in a\nhospital environment as a leader or full-time charge nurse / related position.
Certifications : \n
BLS - Certification required upon hire for all nursing positions.\nACLS - Required within 3 months of hire for the following : Emergency Dept RNs., ICU RNs,\nMedical Response Team RNs, Stepdown RNs, Med / Surg / Tele RNs, All Float Pool RNs, Same\nDay Surgery RNs, Operating Room RNs, PACU RNs, GI Lab RNs, Interventional Radiology\nRNs, Special Procedures RNs, L&D RNs, Cardiac Care RNs, Cardiac Rehab RNs, Cardiac Cath\nLab RNs.\nCPI - Required within 3 months of hire for the following : Emergency Dept. RNs, all Bartlett Float\nPool RNs, Memphis Float Pool RNs that will float to Behavioral Health and / or Emergency Dept.,\nand all Behavioral Health RNs.\nPALS – Required within 3 months of hire for the following : Emergency Dept.
