Description :

The Emergency Department has 4 secure psychiatric area beds, 25 procedure rooms, and 8 hallway beds utilized 24 / 7.

There are 88 staff members combined across various job titles.

Staffing includes a Charge RN, Registered Nurses, Emergency Department Technicians, and support staff during different shifts.

Patient ratios are generally 4 : 1, with some flexibility during acute surges.

Equipment includes ultrasound, IV devices, rapid infusers, Alaris pumps, and electronic medical records systems.

Patients often present with multiple comorbidities, including complicated heart conditions, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, trauma, and stroke.

The typical skill set required includes strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking abilities.

Candidates should also have a solid understanding of EKG interpretation.

Preferred qualifications include additional emergency department experience and various certifications.

Typical procedures involve trauma and stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma, ultrasound, IV and IO insertion, eye exams, EKGs, psychiatric care, and cardiopulmonary care.

The department seeks motivated individuals who are hard workers and creative problem solvers, dedicated to patient care.

Every other weekend commitment is expected for contract labor positions.
