JOB OVERVIEW Job Title : Hematology / Oncology Physician Job Type : Locum Tenens Location : Richmond, IN Service Setting : Inpatient + Clinic Coverage Type : Clinical + Call Coverage Period : 01 / 01 / 2026 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule : Mon Fri, 8a 5p (1-hour unpaid lunch) On-Call Shift Schedule : Fri 5p Mon 7a (rotating weekends) Call Type : Beeper Call Ratio : Shared rotation with 2 Oncologists and 4 APPs Call Response Time : 30 minutes (average expectation) COVERAGE DATES Starting January 2026 (3 weeks per month or full-time preferred) PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics : Adults, Geriatrics Patient Volume / Census : 1820 patients daily in clinic Admissions : As needed (hospitalist typically handles) Rounding : Yes, during weekend call (1012 patients) Phone Consults : Yes, during call Case Mix : 65% Hematology / 35% Oncology FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department : 220 Trauma Level : Level III EMR System : Epic Specialty Backup Available : Yes (2 Oncologists, 4 APPs) Support Staff Available : APPs, RNs Reason for Coverage : Staff leaving PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required : Yes Temporary Privileges Available : No Credentialing Timeline : 6090 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance : Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES None required JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses : Active IN license or IMLC eligible Board : BC / BE in Hematology and Oncology (must certify within 5 years of residency) DEA : Active DEA Certification Certifications : ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA) Experience : Minimum 2 years in specialty Vaccinations : Flu (required or exemption), COVID (not required) Other Qualifications : Must complete order entry and timesheets via Vemsta platform DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient hematology / oncology care Participate in weekend call rotation and provide consults as needed Manage clinic patients and coordinate care with APPs and hospitalist
