Achievement Behavior Services is an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) agency. We are dedicated to the mission of connecting children with the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families with ABA tools, principals, and practices for continued success and independence during their school-aged years. Our client base is between the ages of 2 and 23 years of age all of whom have a formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  At the leadership of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) we have been learning and growing as an ABA agency since 2015. Presently, we are seeking ABA Behavioral Technicians (BTs) to join our network of dedicated ABA professionals, to provide direct ABA services to children with ASD, in collaboration with one of our many esteemed Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBAs). We are looking for direct service providers for both in home and in center services in the early evening / after school hours .

As an ABA Behavior Technician / Therapist (BT), you have the opportunity to make an impact on a school-aged student with the diagnosis ASD. We are looking for dedicated and compassionate BTs to commit to one of our clients for ABA Therapy sessions on a regular, weekly schedule. In this role, you will have the support of a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) who will supervise your work and guide you through an individualized treatment plan (BIP) with personalized SMART goals to work on independently with the student. You will be collecting data and completing daily session notes in this role.

Day-to-day of a Behavior Technician

Measure, assess, and document skill acquisition of student's progress on the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)

1 : 1 Goal-oriented, in home, direct service work with a student involving implementation of ABA approaches including but not limited to discrete trial teaching, prompting, modeling, redirection, reinforcements, and reward-systems.

Thorough and comprehensive session-to-session documentation, data analysis, and billing.

Actively engaging with clinical direction and professional feedback from BCBA supervisor(s)

Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients or students, caregivers, supervisors, and coworkers

Expectations of a Behavior Technician :

Study patient behavior and apply ABA principles

Respond appropriately to different situations common among Autism patients and others with behavioral and developmental challenges

Utilize key communication skills to provide effective feedback to patients

Effectively communicate positive feedback to patients

Be able to recognize and respond to critical improvements in patient behaviors.

Become familiar with and use behavioral redirection techniques

Know how to respond to negative behaviors appropriately

Provide written documentation on each patient.

Taking initiative to actively seek clinical direction from supervisor when support is needed

Respectful and consistent communication with all stakeholders including, but not limited to client caregivers and students, supervisors, and coworkers

Engaging in bidirectional feedback loops with professional attitude

The Qualifications of a Behavior Technician :

Relevant fields of studies : Special Education, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analytics, or related field of study

Preferred : Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

Strong stakeholder communication skills required

Ability to be adaptable under high-stress situations

Exhibits professional administrative reliability : punctuality and responsiveness

Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children

Additional evidence of successful work with patients suffering from Autism and development issues

Other experience, certificates, or qualifications as required by NY State.

Intuitive, engaging, compassionate, and person-centered approaches

Proven experience with documenting progress notes and data points aligning with individualized treatment plans and goals

CPR, First Aid, AED Certification is REQUIRED for all Center Based Cases

THIS ROLE IS PART-TIME AFTER SCHOOL; there is potential for weekend hours, as well.
