Safety & Security Officer, Casual (Weekend Nights)
Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Part Time Safety & Security Officer to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.
Brief Summary of Job : Responsible for the safeguarding of hotel property, assets, guests, visitors and employees.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to :
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
- Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
- Patrol hotel property to ensure the safety of guests and employees and to protect all hotel assets.
- Answer house calls, assist guests and employees with respect to safety, security and hotel operations.
- Initiate and follow-up all investigations of crimes committed against property and persons. Initiate investigations, write incident and accident reports, monitor investigations to their timely conclusion and ensure appropriate follow-up with guests, visitors and employees, documenting all contacts.
- Respond to emergency situations, including medical, security, guest complaints, etc. Assist sick and injured guests and employees, ensuring documentation and disposition of reports.
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to guest and employee incidents.
- Perform access control, key control, and vendor pass policy functions. Manage key system.
- Maintain accurate records while performing basic office duties including, but not limited to, camera monitoring, shift activity log, codebook, and employee and guest binder interaction.
- Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
- Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.
- Requirements Knowledge / Education / Experience : High school or equivalent education preferred. Previous security and / or hotel background preferred. Current CPR / AED and First Aid training certification required. Guard License is required (Act 208).
Skills / Abilities / Other Requirements : Must be able to communicate in English with guests, management and team members to their understanding. Ability to provide legible written communications. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.
